Celebrate Jólabókaflóð 2019 in Portland with local indie authors and illustrators, giveaways, Nordic food, music, and a book donation drive.
Jólabókaflóð, the “book flood before Christmas,” began during WWII with limits placed on Icelandic imports. Books, therefore, became the customary gift to give and to receive.

Broder Söder, our in-house cafe, is open until 5:30 p.m. Select Oregon wines and beers are available for purchase inside the Great Hall during the event.
Scandinavian style instrumental music provided by Amy Hakanson. Amy is a multi-instrumentalist living in Portland, Oregon. Her main instruments are the nyckelharpa, violin, Hardanger fiddle, guitar, and banjo.
Performances at 3:00 pm and 4:30 pm.
