What is your favorite Nordic Holiday and why?

The celebration of the mid-winter solstice in Iceland, “Thorrablot.” Icelandic can be dark and dreary and this holiday celebrates the accomplishment of getting through the winter and looking ahead to the great Nordic spring and summer.

Why is Nordic Northwest special to you?

I love being part of an organization that serves to promote Scandinavian culture, history, traditions, holidays, etc. to the greater Portland area and the state. It’s a great part of the World, one which we can learn much from and enjoy.
