Dana Bjarnason

Dr. Bjarnason served as the chief nursing executive for OHSU Healthcare and as the associate dean for clinical affairs at the OHSU School of Nursing from 2014 to 2023. There she worked with healthcare team members to create environments that enhanced the safety and quality of patient care. In addition to Nordic Northwest, Dana is an active volunteer in the American Organization for Nursing Leadership, the American Hospital Association, Sigma, and the Northwest Organization of Nurse Executives. Her interest in the mission of Nordic Northwest stems for her abiding connection to her Icelandic roots through immigration to North America on both sides of her family. Personal interests include volunteerism, running and strength training as well as reading and travel.
