Paul Tuomi

Paul Tuomi was first introduced to Nordic Northwest through his father, Emeritus Board Member Ralph Tuomi, who played an instrumental part in the creation of Nordia House.
For 35 years, Paul enjoyed a career at Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) as a Sales & Marketing professional. At DTNA he focused on the aftermarket side of business, project management, communications, brand development, dealer and customer support, supplier management, marketing and major customer sales. As a member of the executive leadership team, Paul was integral in growing and shaping DTNA from a regional niche manufacturer to a leading manufacturer in the commercial vehicle marketplace in North America.
Paul was born and raised in Milwaukie, Oregon and married his high school sweetheart, Teri (who also volunteers regularly with Nordic Northwest) in 1983, together they have two children.
If you could pick only one place in the Nordic countries to visit, where would it be?
I need to do a little more research into my family origins in Finland so I can identify the specific place, but I would like to discover the villages in southwestern Finland where my heritage begins.
Favorite Nordic food?
Pickled Herring. Teri and I recently made our first trip to Norway, Sweden and Finland, and I was thrilled to find multiple flavors of herring available at all the hotel breakfast buffets.
