Join us for our Danish Book Club in collaboration with the Northwest Danish Association! The discussion will be conducted strictly in Danish. All Danish speakers are welcome to attend. May Book Club

På Myrens Fodsti (In the Ant’s Footpath)

 

The book is about the authors childhood, describing one’s journey from being a child, reaching into adulthood. It is written with humor and the authors great use of the intricacies of the Danish language.
 

Author: Johannes Møllehave 1937-2021. He has written many books and received numerous awards and honors during his lifetime.

 

 

June Book Club

Vinterbørn (Winter’s Child) by Dea Trier Mørch

Jens Munk by Thorkil Hansen

 

The setting of the book is Denmark 1900-1920 describing Denmark's evolution from an agrarian society and into the industrialized world. The focus is on the smallest farmers and day laborers leaving the countryside and moving to the cities, working in factories.

 

Author:  Hans Kirk 1898-1962
He was a lawyer, journalist and celebrated author.

Parking:

we encourage guests to use public transportation or ride-sharing services. Our 50-space parking lot is open on a first come, first-served, basis and limited street parking is available on SW 89th & 90th Avenues.

Accessibility:

Nordia House has two accessible parking spots in our main lot facing SW Oleson Rd. Both the main entrance facing SW Oleson Rd. and our side entrance facing SW Taylors Ferry Rd. are wheelchair accessible. All restrooms have accessible stalls but no power doors.
