The Hardangers embroidery technique is traditionally used in decorating bunads in Norway. A wide range of patterns are used for the modern artists to try, in both traditional and contemporary styles. Hardanger is still used to decorate cushions, table linen and other household items as well as items for display on a wall.

Join us for this traditional hardanger embroidery class. In this introductory Hardanger class you will learn to stitch Kloster Blocks, Eyelets, and Buttonhole edge. You will cut the fabric so you can Needleweave the bars to make Dove’s Eyes and then cut around the Buttonhole edge.

Supplies

There are two ticket prices for this workshop. One includes a kit of supplies and the second does not include any materials. These kits will be available to pick up at Nordic Northwest before the class. A list of materials will be provided.

List of supplies included: Fabric, multiple yarns, hoops, special embroidery scissors, needles, and more. This kit is worth a total of $78.

Please bring to class a desire to learn, a pillow, and a magnifier if needed.

Skill Level: People with some embroidery experience are welcome.
