Nordic culture has a long tradition of paper arts, and a love of mushrooms! In art, design, cuisine, and fairytales, mushrooms are featured prominently. Crepe paper is renowned for being able to replicate the characteristics of nature, and is used in almost all cultures to sculpt lifelike flowers and plants.
In this workshop students will learn how to create a fairytale mushroom using artist-grade crepe paper. Students will get to choose between two types of mushroom and choose their own colors, with the option to mount them on wood bases.
Great for ages 9 and older
All materials will be provided, along with step by step instruction. Students will leave with at least one completed paper mushroom, with option to make more if time allows.
This is a multi-generational activity! An adult guardian is required for children under the age of 18. Adult guardians do not have to purchase a ticket if they only plan to assist their children in the craft. Adults who plan to make their own craft are required to purchase a ticket.
For a full day of family fun at Nordic Northwest join us later in the evening for How to Train Your Dragon screening and pajama party!
