The Apple War, 1971

The Apple War is a 1971 Swedish comedy and cult classic, starring Max von Sydow and Monica Zetterlund. It lampoons the scheme of a German corporation to turn a large tract of the Swedish countryside into a gigantic theme park called Deutschneyland. The locals band together to frustrate this plan, aided by several creatures that emerge from the mists of Swedish folklore. Emphasized throughout is the battle between nature on the one hand and exploitive commercialization and industrialization on the other.

The screening will be moved indoors in the event of rain.
