During his life, Edvard Grieg (1843- 1907) acted as an ambassador for Norwegian music to the rest of the western world, bringing the Norwegian sound beyond folk music and into the mainstream of art music to mainland Europe


Featuring Cassie Lear, fluteLaura Loge, soprano, and Steven Luksan, piano and Composer-in-Residence performing Hildring i speil (The Mirage in the Mirror) by Øistein Sommerfeldt, and rarely-heard Norwegian works for various combinations of this trio by composers Alf Hurum, Anne-Marie Ørbeck, Edvard Grieg, Steven Luksan, and more!

  • The mission of the Northwest Edvard Grieg Society is to promote the music of Edvard Grieg through performance, educational outreach and research in the Northwest of the United States.

  • This includes creating and supporting individual performances, scholars, performers, educators, or larger projects that incorporate multiple aspects of our mission.

  • Furthering our mission includes collaborating with organizations with mutual interests, including Nordic and/or music focused organizations, to support and encourage events and outreach that provides mutual benefit to them and the NWEGS.

We encourage guests to use public transportation or ride-sharing services. Our 50-space parking lot is open on a first come, first-served, basis and limited street parking is available on SW 89th & 90th Avenues.



Nordia House has two accessible parking spots in our main lot facing SW Oleson Rd. Both the main entrance facing SW Oleson Rd. and our side entrance facing SW Taylors Ferry Rd. are wheelchair accessible. All restrooms have accessible stalls but no power doors.
