Upon registration you will receive an email with information about preparation, what to bring, and more. You will also receive a waiver that you must sign beforehand.

History of Finnish Saunas

This bathing ritual has been performed across Finland for thousands of years, ever since the first settlers dug a ditch in the ground and heated a pile of stones. Women gave birth in them because the walls of traditional smoke saunas were lined with naturally bacteria-resistant soot, making them the cleanest room in the house. Saunas were also the place for purification rituals before marriage, and the bodies of the dead were washed and prepared for burial on the wooden benches.

About Alma Saunas

With decades of experience traveling the world and building everything from fine furniture to skateparks, tiny homes, and art installations, we used our combined skills to create something that evokes a sense of feeling. Through our research we learned that not all saunas are created equal. One session with Alma Saunas and you’ll surely understand the difference.

Our traditional wood burning Finnish sauna stoves produce a softer, warmer heat than electric stoves while creating a natural relaxing ambience. There is a reason people are naturally drawn to fire. While experiencing our sauna, you’ll notice there is little to no wood smoke smell. In fact, the only time you’ll see smoke coming out of our chimney is when the fire is being started or refilled. This is due to the efficient stove design as well as the fact that we only burn premium dried hardwoods. For more information check out their website:
