Portland Chamber Orchestra and Nordic Northwest collaboratively present Shared Horizons Volume Two, an online streaming concert featuring a performance from Nordia House with works by women composers from Sweden, France, Brazil, Norway, Puerto Rico, Britain, and the Americas. After the rousing success of their quartet concert, Portland Chamber Orchestra principal strings Lily Burton, Katherine Schultz, and Miriam English join up with Portland Chamber Orchestra’s own principal bass Marc Bescond and the virtuoso pianist Marcia Garcia.
Enjoy as they explore some well-known works and a few new gems, and share some incredible facts about each composer's life and works.
Despite overwhelming obstacles, a determined group of composers have persisted in writing music, and they’ve been doing it for centuries. Join us in celebrating these powerful players in composing history, most of whom have been "hiding in plain sight!"
Tune in with us for another peek together at human creativity and accomplishment, streaming from the lovely Nordia House to your home.
Portland Chamber Orchestra is an Intimate Symphony with the Infinite Imagination, with Yaacov Bergman as the Music Director/Conductor
