Get ready for the holidays and learn how to create your own straw ornaments! These traditional Nordic ornaments are made of natural straw shaped into delicate snowflakes, stars, and more!
Centuries ago a small portion of the grain harvest was saved and put out for the birds and to protect the fields and good harvest. Over time the straw was fashioned into decorative shapes, and made their way onto Christmas trees. These charming ornaments are made out of simple materials of straw and string, and basic techniques of twisting, folding, and braiding.
All instruction and supplies will be provided for you to create at least three ornaments to take home!
This is a multi-generational activity! An adult guardian is required for children under the age of 18. Adult guardians do not have to purchase a ticket if they only plan to assist their children in the craft. Adults who plan to make their own craft are required to purchase a ticket.
