OUR MISSION

Nordic Northwest is a nonprofit organization focused on the five Nordic nations: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.

The mission of Nordic Northwest is to:

  • Highlight, honor, educate, communicate, promote and celebrate Nordic culture and traditions, ancestral, modern and contemporary. 

  • Provide value and serve members by developing and making available and accessible Nordic cultural and educational programming that is rich, authentic and forward looking.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING SCHEDULE

Nordic Northwest members are encouraged and invited to participate in the monthly Board of Directors meetings at Nordia House. Meetings are generally the fourth Monday of each month from 4 to 6 pm at Nordia House. No board meetings in August and December. Please let us know if you are planning to attend by contacting us at info@nordicnorthwest.org.

PRESENT AN IDEA TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Any member is encouraged and invited to present a topic/issue directly to the Board, input is appreciated. Presenters will be scheduled at the beginning of the meeting and during the public session. Members have approximately three minutes to present their topic. Post Board meeting, if applicable the Board of Directors will get back to the member regarding board/decision/action. To be placed on the agenda the Board asks members to please complete the form below that intensifies the topic and provides applicable background information.

CODE OF CONDUCT

Nordic Northwest membership and participation in Nordic Northwest events are privileges and carry with them the expectation that all will abide by a high ethical code. Members and guests will treat each other, employees and staff with dignity and respect at all times. Abusive behavior will not be tolerated and is grounds for sanctions, including expulsion. Abusive behavior may include but is not limited to harassment, offensive comments, profanity, threatening language or gestures and unwanted physical contact.
