This summer, come join Nordic Northwest as we explore the whole range of trolls, from scary to sweet, with our Troll Tales on the Lawn series! These movies will be shown in our Woodland Meadow with special intros from troll expert Britte Rasmussen Marsh.
This is a family friendly event, all ages welcome including people without children.
Films will be outdoors, weather permitting, on our woodland meadow. You are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket or low rider chairs.
There we will be a no host bar serving select Oregon wines and beers along with non-alcoholic beverages. We encourage people to bring snacks and food to enjoy during the film.
Doors open at 7:30 pm

The Box Trolls:
Eggs is an orphan who was adopted by the Boxtrolls who live under the town of Cheesebridge. The Boxtrolls are creatures who reuse the trash thrown away by humans to make inventive creations. When Archibald Snatcher devises a plan to get rid of the Boxtrolls, Eggs goes to the streets where he meets Winnifred. Together, they hatch a plan to save the Boxtrolls from destruction.

Troll expert, Britte Rasmussen Marsh will be presenting before each troll film to talk about the relevance of each film in the context of troll discord and history!
About the Speaker:
Britte Rasmussen Marsh is a writer, educator and community organizer based in Portland, Oregon. Her current work includes several troll-based initiatives, including Trolls: A Retrospective which chronicles the history of trolls from the Viking age to our contemporary era. Another work is WeTroll, a non-fiction book that explores the "troll diaspora" from Scandinavia to North America in order to ask "are trolls real, and have you encountered one?"
