Fika (fee-kuh) is the Swedish tradition of taking time out of your day to enjoy a cup of coffee and a snack. This is more than just a cup of joe though; Fika is an important cultural experience that includes food and socializing. Join us for a Fika at Fogelbo! You’ll see the inside of the historic cabin, meet new friends, and enjoy delicious Nordic treats.

While the coffee is generally thought of as the star of the show, equally important was the tradition of "sju sorters kakor," or "seven kinds of cookies." The hostess was responsible for serving seven kinds of treats, including cookies, a sweet bun, cakes, and other pastries. During this fika you will enjoy seven treats along with your coffee.

We are proud to be serving Nordic Coffee generously donated by Broder Soder.

Please note that while you will be able to enjoy the wonders of Fogelbo this is not a formal tour. This is a collaboration between our Fogelbo Heritage Committee and our Nordic Cuisine Committee. You’ll be able to enjoy the fusion of these two committees.

Learn more about Fogelbo

Nestled in the mature trees along Oleson Road is an unassuming place called Fogelbo. In Swedish, Fogelbo means “bird nest” and is derived from the Fogelquist family name, which means “bird on a branch.” This historic home and two acres were deeded to Nordic Northwest in 2014 by Sir Ross Fogelquist. Fogelbo houses a large private collection of Nordic antiques and folk arts.
