Strategic Play – Thoughtful decisions and engaging competition.

Deep & Complex – Rich systems and immersive gameplay for those ready to dive in. (A single game may take the entire night!)

Game Masters will be on hand throughout the evening to teach rules, guide first rounds, and help you find the perfect game for your play style. This event is all about having fun, trying something new, and connecting with fellow board game lovers. Doors open at 5:30 with Game Masters starting sessions at 6pm.

Game Night Lineup

Quick to Learn Games:

  • Patchwork: 5-30 minute abstract strategy game where players compete to build the most aesthetic and high-scoring quilt

  • Odin: a fast-paced, 2-6 player shedding-style card game, where players try to empty their hand of nine cards first. Themed around Vikings and Norse mythology

Strategic Play:

  • Loften: a two-player competitive strategy board game  It features a Viking theme where players act as Jarls in the Lofoten archipelago, managing a fleet of ships to collect goods like fish, sheep, and treasure from a rotating market board.vNamed after an Archipelago in Norway.

  • Empires of the North: a standalone, engine-building card game for 1-4 players that combine resource management, tableau building, and action selection. General Nordic theme.

Deep & Complex:

  • Northgard: a 2-5 player game where players manage a clan, using cards to move, explore new tiles, build structures, and recruit Vikings. General Nordic theme, that also ties into a strategy video game.

  • Nidavellir: a family-friendly, medium-light, 2–5 player drafting and set collection board game centered on bidding to recruit the best army. Themed around Norse Mythology.

  • Saltfjord: a 1–4 player themed around building a 19th-century Norwegian fishing village. Players primarily use dice drafting to activate specific rows or columns on their player board to manage resources, build structures, and manage fishing voyages, all while aiming to maximize victory points over three rounds. Created by a Norwegian game designer!
