Experience an intimate evening of original music with Finnish-born singer, songwriter, and pianist Ruut, whose work brings together ancestral heritage and contemporary musical storytelling.
Known for two decades as Baltimore’s beloved “piano girl,” Ruut is a primarily self-taught musician and the granddaughter of acclaimed Finnish opera composer Aulis Sallinen. Her music draws inspiration from ancient Finnish oral traditions while giving them new life through original songs, expressive vocals, and piano.
With nine independent albums, international performances, and collaborations with renowned music industry figures, Ruut brings a wealth of experience to the stage. Her recent releases, including Gravity and the single “Unbeatable,” mark an exciting new chapter in her musical career.
