Join us in celebrating Sauna Week with a lecture by Finlandia Foundation’s Lecturer of the year Eero Kilpi. “Sauna Lost & Found: Restoring Finnishness to a Global Tradition” delves into the history and traditions of global bathing cultures. From Lakota sweat lodges to Japanese onsen, Eero explores how Finnish traditions can reclaim their central role in the sauna culture of the United States.
About the Speaker:
Eero Kilpi is a Finnish native with a PhD in Business Administration from Aalto University. Throughout his career, he has had a strong focus on creating meaningful connections between the world and Finland. A founding member of the North American Sauna Society, Eero has advocated for the Finnish sauna tradition for over two decades. His work has been featured in Forbes and The New York Times, and he co-hosts The Upper Bench podcast which explores sauna culture in-depth.
