Spooktacular Halloween Workshop

Time to play! Everyone’s beloved Danish invention and one of the world’s most recognizable building toys, LEGO®, has inspired generations of creativity and learning around the globe. The name LEGO comes from the Danish phrase “leg godt,” meaning “play well!” The LEGO Group was established in 1932 in Billund, Denmark, by Ole Kirk Christiansen, who initially made wooden toys. The company is still owned and operated by the same family today.

Nordic Northwest is pleased to offer this Halloween-themed workshop led by Play-Well TEKnologies, one of the country’s leading educators using LEGO® materials to teach and inspire creativity, STEAM, and STEM skills. With Halloween just around the corner, students will use tens of thousands of LEGO® bricks to build spooky ghosts, moving decorations, and other imaginative creations while learning about gear drives and engineering concepts along the way. With the guidance of an experienced Play-Well instructor, participants will combine problem-solving, creativity, and plenty of Halloween fun to create displays that are simply “gourd-geous”!

At Play-Well TEKnologies, students are encouraged to unleash their inner engineer as they design and build with tens of thousands of LEGO® pieces and the guidance of passionate, dedicated Play-Well instructors. They will explore fundamental STEM concepts as they learn to collaborate and create without fear of mistakes. The experience is joyful, the impact long lasting.

We are excited to offer this workshop as a drop-off program. Parents and caregivers are welcome to leave or stay on campus but are asked not to stay in the classroom during the workshop unless there is a special need. On-campus sites and things to do include Broder Söder restaurant, Finn Ware Nordic gift shop, Ole Bolle giant troll, and beautiful short walking trails around the campus.

Play-Well instructors are trained to work with a broad range of students and needs and are excited to create an amazing experience for your student. Play-Well aims to create a safe space, physically and emotionally, for students, so parents are asked not to stay in the room for the duration of the workshop in order to foster cooperation, creativity, and peer interactions.
