In 2002 Chuck and Dian moved to sunny Arizona, and Chris and Hilary moved onto the vineyard from Portland. Today Roots produces 5000 cases of wine annually. Their main varietals are the flagship Estate Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Chardonnay with grapes sourced from other local vineyards.

Ruby Vineyard & Winery

June 12, 2024

5:30 – 7:30 pm

Ruby Vineyard is located in the Chehalem Mountains AVA in the Willamette Valley. The first vines were planted in 1973 by John and Beth Hiestand. In 1979, Bill Beran planted the majority of the vines that became Ruby Vineyard. Bill and Sharon Beran produced the first vintage under the label Beran Vineyards. In 2012, Steve Hendricks and Flora Habibi purchase the property from the Berans, and it became Ruby Vineyard and Winery, named after Flora’s favorite gemstone. To Steve, Ruby represents a connection to his familial roots, dating back to his great-great-grandfather who arrived in the Willamette Valley in 1843 via the Oregon Trail.

Fullerton Wines

July 10, 2024

Fullerton Wines explores the rich and varied AVAs of Oregon by expressing the distinct personality of each vineyard and vintage in every bottle. They produce a single vineyard Pinot Noir from each of the sub-AVAs of the Willamette Valley.

Founded in the Fullerton family garage in 2011, the winery is a deeply personal family collaboration. Winemaker Alex Fullerton first got into the industry when his father Eric suggested the career path while wine tasting in the Willamette Valley after Alex had just graduated from the University of Oregon in 2010. That conversation led to Alex having a harvest internship with Penner Ash Wine Cellars, which started the very next day. When making their first vintage in 2011, Alex and Eric made a few barrels of Pinot Noir in their garage. Despite the challenging vintage, the wine impressed, and Fullerton Wines was born.

Stangeland Vineyards

September 11, 2024

5:30 – 7:30 pm

Michigan natives, Kayla Borgen & Robert Lauer always dreamt of escaping to Oregon wine country to chase their dreams in the Pacific Northwest. One cross-country drive and two houses later they found their dream home in Salem, Oregon where they now grow and make their own wine on the historic Stangeland property, host a quaint Airbnb, and raise their son together all while tending to chickens, bees, a garden, and their two dogs and restoring an old farmhouse.

Kayla’s background is in art and design and Robert's education from UC Davis couples with 15 years of experience in winegrowing & winemaking.

Their ethos: They believe wine is meant to be shared with friends over bread & effervescent conversation. Thoughtfully made with minimalist methods and an emphasis on sustainable farming, Kayla and Robert’s wines are a love letter to mother earth & those friends who gather around their table.

Their wines: Small production, sustainably farmed, natural wines grown and made in the Willamette Valley of Oregon.

Raptor Ridge

October 9, 2024

Raptor Ridge Winery, founded by Scott Shull in 1995, began when wine-tasting and small-scale winemaking with a group of co-workers became more than just a passing hobby in the early 90's. Annie joined Scott as his life partner in 1998 and business partner in 2001. Raptor Ridge has grown a lot from its early days, originally hosting tastings at their own kitchen counter they now host wine tastings at the wonderful Tuscowallame Estate. That fundamental ethos of Raptor Ridge – creating delicious, unique wine in an environment that feels like home – has remained a part of the Raptor Ridge Winery's vision since its inception.

Hoy Family Vineyards

November 13, 2024

5:30 – 7:30 pm

The Hoy Family Vineyard was planted in 1985 by Rexhill Winery under a 30-year lease with the Hoy Family.  The vines were a mixture of Chardonnay (a bootleg French clone) and Pinot Noir (clones 113 and 115). In 2015, the lease ended and the Hoy Family took over the operation of the vineyard. After the introduction to Jacques Tardy, a well-respected French winemaker, the Hoy Family Vineyard concentrated on making small batch Pinot Noir wine, unique to the vineyard's location (450’ elevation, southern exposure, Chehalem Mountain AVA). In particular, the Pinot Noir 113 clone which was 1 of the 4 original Dijon clones brought to Oregon from France, hence the name. The 113 was widely planted in the early years in Oregon but has fallen out of favor with a large part of the Oregon wine scene due to its difficulty to farm. In 2016 Hoy Family Vineyard made its first vintage, a 2016 Pinot Noir 113 and 115 blend, it rated a Suckling score of 90 pts. In 2018 Hoy Family Vineyard made a 2018 single clone, single block, single estate, 113 Pinot Noir. The 2018 offers a unique take on Oregon Pinot Noir and has become a favorite at tastings.
