Karl Samson

Karl (he/him) joined Nordic Northwest as Facilities Coordinator in March 2024. In this role, he helps set the stage for memorable events both large and small. He also cares for the property’s extensive landscaping and stewards the property’s native riparian forest, groves of Douglas firs and Oregon white oaks as well as the living roof on Nordia House. Karl brings to Nordic Northwest wide-ranging experiences that have included managing and maintaining a 110-year-old general store turned wine country café, selling native plants and traveling the world writing travel guide books. In his off hours, he hikes, kayaks, forages for edible mushrooms and gardens organically on his small farm outside Hillsboro. When he first met Ole Bolle the troll, Karl knew the two of them would become fast friends.
