Join us for a screening of Elling, a heartwarming and humorous Norwegian film that explores friendship, mental health, and the journey to independence. Based on the novel Brødre i blodet (Blood brothers) by Ingvar Ambjørnsen, Elling follows the story of two men, Elling, a shy and neurotic poet, and Kjell Bjarne, his socially inept, sex-obsessed roommate he meets at a psychiatric institution. When they are released and given an apartment to share, they must prove they can live on their own. Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, Elling is a charming and insightful story that celebrates the beauty of small victories. Subtitled in English.
